Membership

Naturopath

The GCRN are tasked with regulating and continuing education for the highest educated naturopaths throughout the United Kingdom.  In order to meet the standards of the CNHC Core Curriculum and  the World Naturopathic Federation (WNF), a GCRN Full Membership requires all applicants are educated to a minimum level six education, demonstrated by a Bachelor’s Degree or Level 6 Diploma in Naturopathy that may accompany another a Bachelor i.e. Osteopathy or Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Masters or PhD from a recognised institution. Also, for those who have proof of being in practice for over 25 years applications will be considered.

Current applicable applications include:

  1. Students attending a GCRN accredited naturopathic course may join as a GCRN Student Members.
  2. Students studying an accredited BSc or MSc degree course in naturopathic medicine, may join the GCRN as a Student Member and convert to Full Membership upon graduation.
  3. Foreign applicants from accredited schools with a minimum level 6 education, including clinical practice are welcome to apply for Full membership.
  4. Online naturopathic courses will not be accepted for membership of the GCRN.

Add-on Course

The British Naturopathic Association, in conjunction with the GCRN are in the process of setting up a new online educational course to bring naturopathic practitioners educated to level 4 and 5, with clinical practice, up to a level 6.   Updates of the course progress will be given to those who request to be put on our waiting list. 

Full Members

Full members and Fellows of the GCRN may use the term ‘Doctor of Naturopathy’. Note, restrictions on the use of the title Doctor or Dr. before a member’s name unless medically qualified or holding a Ph.D. in addition to being eligible to use the title ‘Registered Naturopath. The GCRN will be the professional association for full members.

Naturopaths eligible for full membership and practicing overseas may apply for International Membership of the GCRN. International members may use the term ‘Doctor of Naturopathy’, depending on the laws in place in their country of practice. The professional association for international members will be one of the member association of the World Naturopathic Federation.

Student Members

The student category of GCRN membership is open to any student currently studying a course of naturopathy. The cost of student membership is free. Student members of the GCRN will not be eligible to call themselves naturopaths or any other term suggestion they are a naturopathic professional. Student membership ends when the student finishes their course of study. Previous student membership does not confer eligibility to become a GCRN member on graduation. The graduate should meet the criteria for GCRN membership.

Friend of Naturopathy

A new category of GCRN membership known as Friend of Naturopathy will be open to any member of the public. The cost of becoming Friend of Naturopathy is £30 pa.  Friends of Naturopathy will not be eligible to call themselves naturopaths or any other term suggestion they are a naturopathic professional. Friends of Naturopathy will be eligible for discounts to events, online webinars and benefits as deemed appropriate by the GCRN executive Council.
