Nutritional Health

Nutritional HealthNutrition is considered one of the vital three pillars of Naturopathy.Without the basic raw materials to build healthy cells and tissues, it is not possible to be in good health. Nutrients are a vital part of good health. A Naturopath takes a broader view of nutrition than a dietitian, in that we are also interested in how well the food is absorbed and used by the body. In fact what we are really interested in, is the biochemistry of the body, not just it’s nutritional status so that we can ensure optimum metabolism and health of every cell. We are not merely interested in calories; we are interested in the nutritional content of the food. Food quality is the most important part of the equation; this means that food that has been grown with respect for the environment is generally considered healthier for us as well as the planet. There are many different guidelines on diet these days, so a Naturopath can guide you through the maze of information to find a diet that is right for you.
